Spanish classes in Argentina and different regions in Mendoza to explore
Since 1999, Íbero Spanish and TEFL School takes a personalized approach to teaching Spanish, adjusting to the level and learning needs of international students from different backgrounds. Our Spanish immersion courses are designed so that students complete an entire unit in three weeks, or after 45 hours of group instruction. We teach the Spanish necessary to communicate in a variety of situations.
We have our own published materials, which have been developed and improved over the years. In fact, we are the only school in Buenos Aires with a self-published line of Spanish learning textbooks! You will attend Spanish immersion classes with highly qualified, bilingual instructors. You will have the chance to meet new people and make new friends all the time, you can choose from a number of outings to join and get to know different Argentine customs while experiencing some interesting sites throughout the city. Knowing Spanish will make living and working in Buenos Aires (or any other Spanish speaking country) a great experience. There is no registration fee for the Spanish course and no other hidden fees.
We offer a TEFL certification course here at our school in Buenos Aires, as well. Throughout our program, native English speakers become accredited ESL Teachers and get a job right after their TEFL course.
Wine in Mendoza
Mendoza, Argentina´s oldest and best-known wine region is the epicenter of Malbec, Argentina’s most famous red wine varietal. Located on a high-altitude plateau at the edge of the Andes Mountains, the province is responsible for roughly 70 percent of the country’s annual wine production. Here, the regions of Lujan de Cuyo, Maipu and the Uco Valley are home to some of the biggest names in Argentinean wine.
Lujan de Cuyo region is home to some of the most famous names in Argentinean wine, including Catena Zapata,Bodega Septima and Cheval des Andes. Unsurprisingly, Malbec is the region’s most-important grape variety, producing bold, intensely flavored red wines. But Malbec is not the only grape thriving here. Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Torrontes also thrive well.
Uco Valley (Valle de Uco)
Approximately 75 minutes south of the city of Mendoza, the Uco Valley (Valle de Uco) is Mendoza’s newest wine region, and the one getting the most attention internationally right now. It is known especially for Malbec, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Semillon and Torrontes production. The breathtaking natural scenery makes it one of the most picturesque regions in Mendoza.
The area is known for its high altitude, with the Tupungato region having vineyards planted almost 4,000 feet above sea level. In addition to producing award-winning Malbecs and blends, the area is also emerging as a source for premium quality white wine varietals such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and even Torrontes.
The region of Maipu, south and east of Mendoza city, has approximately 20 wineries. Some of the best are La Rural, Familia Zuccardi and Finca Flichman. While you won’t need as much time in Maipu as the other regions, it is not a region to skip, and the additional olive oil tasting and biking opportunities provide a diversion from the Lujan de Cuyo and Uco Valley tourist experiences.
