Hector Mayoral: was born in Buenos Aires, at Villa Pueyrredón neighbourhood. From an early age his background has consisted in practicing with genuine milongueros. His personality and dancing skills have turned him into a first-rate star in stages all over the world.

Elsa María Bórquez de Mayoral: was born in La Boca, one of Buenos Aires oldest neighbourhoods. When she was 8 years old, she started studying classical dances, music and painting. In sports, she stands out in tennis and rhythmic gymnastics at the River Plate Soccer Club.

Mayoral and Elsa Maria are, no doubt, cultural ambassadors of Argentina, teachers of highly successful international artists such as:  directors, teachers, choreographers and producers of shows.

At the New York Art Museum they are listed as one of the main creators of the tango rebirth of the 80's.

As a result of their success all over the world, in 2003 the Legislative government of the City of Buenos Aires has conferred upon them the title of "Illustrious Citizens of the City of Buenos Aires."

Being the creators of the most original tango show so called "Instrumental Ballet", featuring 8 artists playing, singing and dancing tango, their outstanding talent was rewarded with the "Gran SADAIC 1971” prize by the Argentinian Society of Authors, Interpreters and Composers, adding one more landmark to their careers.

They have set an all time record at Broadway with the most successful tango shows from Argentina, "Tango Argentino and "Forever Tango": (1983 -1984 -1999 - 2000- 2004).”Tango Argentino" show got the Tony Award for "Best Choreography" plus nominations for "Forever Tango".

They have danced and  were honoured with overwhelming admiration by Lady Di, Hillary and Bill Clinton, Robert Duvall, Frank Sinatra, Ireneo Leguizamo, Juan Manuel Fangio, Placido Domingo, Robert Deniro, Mijail Baryshnikov, Rudolf Nureyev, Shimon Peres, Liza Minelli, Julio Iglesias, Whoopi Goldberg, Gabriela Sabatini, etc.

Innovators, they have developed a new health alternative therapy, "Cardio respiratory benefits during the tango dance", together with highly professional scientists from the "Fundación Cardiológica Argentina” and the invaluable support of Dr René Favaloro. These studies have been published in their September-October 2002 magazine, Vol.70, Number 5, and approved by several national and international organisms.

As teachers of teachers, with the utmost respect for their origins, they have taught culture in universities and academies throughout the five continents. In 1984, they published their first book "Paso por Paso el tango" and in 2000 they released their first teaching video and DVD in 5 languages.

In 2001, with the purpose of offering many different social and cultural events, they have inaugurated the Centro Cultural Mayoral y Elsa María, an elegant French residence from the beginning of last century, located in the neighbourhood of Recoleta, where Av. Callao and Av. Santa Fe meet. This hidden treasure has recently been declared of Tourist Interest by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires.

Mayoral and Elsa María are, no doubt, ambassadors of the Argentinian culture.
