HOMESTAYS

Living with a porteño host family allows you to quickly immerse yourself into Argentine society.

All families are carefully selected by Íbero Spanish Argentina and provide the student with a private room and comfortable surroundings in very secure buildings.  All host families are middle to upper-middle class with high living standards.  Family homes are located in neighbourhoods near our school in the downtown area or in residential areas like Recoleta or Palermo.  All homestays are within walking distance of Íbero or easily accessible by public transportation.  All homes are regularly monitored by Íbero staff to ensure that students will be happy with their homestay.

Upon reserving accommodation in an Íbero homestay, you will:

o        Receive your own housekey to come and go as you please.

o        Have a private bedroom that can be locked, and, depending on the home, have a private or a shared bathroom with hot water 24 hours a day.

o        Not have cooking access to the kitchen.

o        Have a great opportunity to interact with locals and to practice your new Spanish skills.

o        Not be allowed to invite others to stay the night.

o        Have your own local “guide” to assist with daily necessities like navigating public transportation, finding a good restaurant or nightclub, or even help you with your Spanish homework.

o        Need to have the ability to adapt to other customs and social norms. Ex: drinking mate in the afternoons, greeting others with besitos (small kisses on the cheek), later meal times, etc.

SHARED APARTMENTS 

Our shared apartment accommodations are similar to homestays, but offer a greater level of personal independence.  Each apartment is shared by one or two local Argentines and up to three foreign students.  They are all fully furnished (furniture, bed sheets, towels, etc.) apartments in which locals chose to share their living space with students.  Each accommodation is located in a secure building within walking distance of Íbero, or is easily accessible by public transportation.

HOSTEL

Our partner hostel was created by and for travellers.  It is within short walking distance of Íbero, and offers many different types of accommodations.  There is a shared kitchen, an inside lounge area, and a sunny and spacious terrace.  Breakfast is included, and the hostel staff are on duty 24 hours a day.  Lockers and safety boxes are available.  The hostel staff have much experience guiding newcomers to Buenos Aires; they can help to arrange transportation, evenings outings, and sightseeing adventures.

PRIVATE APARTMENTS

Íbero occasionally has private apartments in different locations around the city to offer to their students.  Please inquire if this option interests you.
