CARLOS GARDEL

The Spanish lessons cover subject matter related to tango, including the life of Carlos Gardel, the one-time occupant of the Íbero building! It includes study of tango music via multimedia activities and practice with Lunfardo - slang that tango singers borrowed from 'malevos' (small-time crooks) and 'cuchilleros' (knife-fighters).

The touristic and multimedia program also visits places that were important to his life.

 

 

 

EVA PERÓN (EVITA)

This program combines classroom private instruction about Eva Perón (Evita) and a tour to visit places that were integral to her political life and humanitarian work.

Utilizing movies and visits, it is truly engaging for students as they are also learning Spanish.

 

 

 

 

JORGE LUIS BORGES

This program couples Spanish private lessons and visits to places that were important to Jorge Luis Borges, the most famous Argentinean writer of all time.

The classes will focus on his life and work and utilize multimedia activities, selective readings of Borges texts and analysis of relevant aspects of his literature.

 

 

 

 

CHE GUEVARA

This program focuses on the life and work of one of the most controversial global political leaders of all time, Ernesto 'Che' Guevara. It consists of selective reading of supporters and opponents.

This is a literary-multimedia program in which students will discover the evolving stages of Guevara’s life and his struggle for revolution.

 

 

 

 

JULIO CORTÁZAR

This program is a purely literary course focusing on the life and work of Julio Cortázar, one of Argentina’s most influential writers; widely known in Latin America and Europe.

Master of short stories and of superb creativity, Cortázar has been compared to great writers such as Jorge Luis Borges, Chejov and Edgar Allan Poe.

Through the study of his life and work, students will be able to discover timeless literary classics.

 

 

 

DIEGO MARADONA

This multimedia program studies the history of the most world known Argentinean football player, Diego Armando Maradona.

By traditional and multimedia studies, the student will discover all influences that made Maradona so popular as well as his accomplishments in football. It also includes a tour to places that were relevant to his life and work, like the Boca Juniors stadium and the Maradona museum.

 

 

 

ERNESTO SÁBATO

This multimedia program focuses on the distinctive works of Ernesto Sábato, one of Argentina’s most famous writers.  He is known for his fascinating work and collaboration with CONADEP.

Throughout this course, the student will receive a singular perspective as well as a detailed analysis of the most relevant works of this great writer.
